I'm an aspiring sample producer who would like to know what you think about my sample creations. The stuff that I do is electronic base/percussive synthetic sounds. Please try to be constructive with your comments has I would like to improve my production skills:

Oups! Little problem here, 250free.com doesn't allow hot linking anymore. I'll try to find another place.

Too bad I didn't know about it (audioshots) until I after I bought some hosting space. What sux is that I've had the space for some time and I still haven't uploaded my main page.

Thanks Sickle, :)

I will have to get some basic scripts up in the near future as a basis for creating a site around, to help speed things up – actually I have just had the network card changed on the server you are on at the moment (it was freaking out – I got harmony n’ dspevo in the same box and noticed some name resolving issues – any residue of that should clear up over the next few hours – I hope)

Yep! Crazed you missed out on this one – but there is always next year when you come to renew whoever you are with at the moment – might be worth checking out what packages I have available then.

Best regards,

Spe3d

Nice sounds but a bit too much reverb for me.

Yeah I agree, these samples are a bit saturated. You'd be best to leave the fx processing to your users. The kits are clean & sound good, but don't deviate much from what has been available for some time. Maybe embelish them with some unique percussion to set your kits off against everyone else's.

Maybe you would be best focusing more on loop creation, as what little I heard sounded pretty decent beat-wise. If you refrain from over judicious use of generic fx on your loops, I think you'll please a wider audience.

Thanks for the comments! My first idea was to create a VSTi who would load drum loops that the user could customize using a built in drum machine type of sequencer. The VSTi would have basic feature like midi sync, velocity, pitch, pan & volume control, kind of like a mini FruityLoops with just enough feature to quickly customize the available drum loops. Unfortunatly I found that some develloper already offers that kind of VSTi!

Yeah, it's called 'Intakt', but don't let that stop you from doing your own..it's the rage these days for sample collections to have a custom VSTi front end..make it so, man!

What do you think of the sequencer used in the Micro Tonic? I like it, the only thing I didn't like was that sequences wouldn't play unless the master sequencer (Flstudio, Cubase, etc) was running. I'd like to suggest that you consider using a similiar step sequencer that could run without the master sequencer running. I don't think I've seen a VSTi drum sampler/synth that could do that yet...

It would be the same kind of sequencer, simple & clean, except that there would be at least 4 of them for each sound samples. This way basic beats (kick/snare/hh/oh) could be sequence & the preset could be customize by the user.
