Hello,
My question is simple.
May I sequence a DAW-Slave (such as SAVIHost/Reaper) through another DAW such as Orion/Cubase-Master via MIDI ?
Thanks

Why not? There is now law against it...;-)

Unless it actually works as a slave (Reason, Ableton) you will probably have to some kind of a software midi router. I can't find the one I am thinking of - I thought it was called LoopB, but Google is not showing it. You also may have issues with your audio, as most DAWs don't like to share - this is where your problems will tend to be. Cubase has an option to release the audio when not in use, so it may not be a problem.

Is there a reason you need the second DAW? I would probably just drag and drop the midi (or export/import).

This MIDI driver is called LoopBe

You should try ReWire. If installed correctly, Reaper should appear under Insert->ReWire in Orion's menu.

As for MIDI loopback, there is also this:

True on Windows, but this is built into Mac via the IAC driver.

Strange that someone would go online to ask permission to do such a thing.

I don't think virtual midi on Windows is tight enough for that purpose.

If you have a midi interface, a cable would do it. Same for audio, to keep, things simple I connect the s/pdif in to out, send from one app and receive in the other...

as mentioned, if you can run it Rewire is the simplest solution.
most daws support it ( i believe Bitwig does not)..
otherwise a midi driver such as LoopBe for creating midi channels some say it's faster (performs better) to do it this way...
just search for midi drivers for whatever OS you are running...

I want to do this between 2 computers, each computer has a DAW running. Expect it will be easy when using midi for this.
