Responding to user requests, VSL has come out with an extended techniques strings library.
Lot of articulations here.

The Synchron Stage approach is based in "The Multi-Impulse Response Convolution engine is able to reproduce an absolutely authentic rendering of any audio signal playing on a certain position in a virtual room. It merges all signals into one unifying homogenous space with accurate spatial perception."

50-piece string ens was recorded, each close-mic'd.
14 first violins, 10 second violins, 6 first violas, 6 second violas, 8 cellos, 6 double basses
With 6 stereo downmixes per section ^.
6 mic positions for Standard, 10 for Full version.

Free hard drive space Standard Library: 41.2 GB (individual microphone data can be removed)
Free hard drive space Full Library: 66.6 GB (individual microphone data can be removed)

New Synchron Player interface/engine.

They've gone nuts with this one. 25% off thru June.

I was able to pretty much ascertain that the difference between Standard and Full is the 6 mic positions vs 10, same set of articulations. That's a 215 euros price difference.

This is HUGE for me. I had some of this in an age-old (Kontakt conversion from) Giga set, or sets but that HDD is gone forever. There is probably no competing product for this in the known universe.
