Hi there,
I couldn't remember when I bought this DAW (seems like 1997). And then I switched to Sonar/Reason5/Cubase5-6-7 and then Recently Live 10.
Really want to re-pick up the operation skill not to be a Jedi master but at least I need to know the bread and butter skills:
1) MIDI routing (like bluearp send MIDI to Rapid)
2) Side chaining
3) Group tracks and freeze tracks
3) Time sketching of a drum loop
4) Kontact sampler multi-midi out
5) Quick short cut keys (Esp in MIDI editing - I don't do Vocal but dance tunes)
I am hunting for some kind of good tutorials in youtube like FL 11 or later and if you have one please share with me. And back to the question, how long will it take to "Re-pick-up" FL20 ?
Cheers!

All those things you can learn in 10 minutes.
1. Click on the cog icon of instrument, then another cog, set MIDI port, set in another same port,
just follow the cog

2. Right click in the mixer on the arrow at the bottom of channel and you'll get the pop up window with:

3. You have Fruity Slicer and Slicex for drum loops
4. See 1, but in MIDI Out channel you set the port and choose channel too.
5. You'll need to learn shortcuts by yourself

the cog/settings doesn't work for FL gens- it isn't there.
if you want to use things like the new 303, 'Patcher' is what's needed I think,
or that's what I did anyway. I got on the boat at FL5, but I suck on 20
The new mixer routings allow more than stereo pairs to be sent to a channel-
for surround or whatever

Thanks you for your explanation. The routing stuff was also found in youtube when I search "bluearp with FL studio". I think I will upgrade to "Producer" edition since the current version doesn't allow me to drag-drop audio file.

btw way sign up for fl forums, loop talk, reddit pages..
you can get things like shortcuts in the manual and other sites.
and youtube.. in terms of coverage for particular DAWs FL more than adequately catered for. in this respect you can learn quickly.
once you lears the essential shortcuts you will be flying...

This is possible for a long time. There are several ways. You can stretch audio on the playlist (or inside the sample channel). Or you can timestretch a pattern -> now with FL 20 you can also turn a pattern into audio and then timestretch it. And then there is Pitcher and NEwTone (xtra plugins).brainzistor wrote:He obviously meant "time stretching"inkwarp wrote:what does this mean?cowby wrote: 3) Time sketching of a drum loop
