PC Startup Popping

Hi,
I have my audio interface connected via USB and does not have an ON/OFF switch. If I turn my PC on/off or even restart it I hear a popping noise from the speakers as if the USB power is going to the AI while speakers are powered.
Are these safe noises or does it mean I have to turn my speakers off everytime my PC is restarting?

No and yes. Most amps have filters and the like (speaker protection circuits) to prevent this - computers don't, for some reason.Rowan88 wrote:Hi,

Edit:
Possibly there is a setting in the OS that may solve this?

Hi
You can power on your speakers, after the PC is started. Most active speakers can be powered off. You can also set the speaker volume to zero on the audio interface at the launch of the PC.

I tried turning the OUTPUT volume down to zero and restarted but still the popping noise appeared.
Its just a pain anytime the computer wants to restart I would have to turn speakers off then on again..

Nope, it's either built into the hardware or it isn't.Googly Smythe wrote: Possibly there is a setting in the OS that may solve this?
