I have been planning on switching to Cubase Pro 9.5 from Pro Tools 12.5. Came across a crossgrade offered by Steinberg on the Sweetwater website: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... e-download
I have a perpetual Pro Tools 12.5 and Ableton Live Suite 9 license. So technically, I do qualify for this crossgrade, but to be sure I wanted to confirm with the a Sweetwater Sales Engineer and wrote to them asking about my eligibility. They replied back saying that all Steinberg activation serials are geotagged and since I am not from the United States, I might face registration issues if I go for this crossgrade offer or even if I am able to register it I'll face issues with future upgrades and support. Has anyone come across any such "geotagging" issues with Steinberg? Is this really how it is with Cubase crossgrades?
