And let me tell you why...

I'm in Washington DC USA, producing nationally-syndicated radio programs with faraway remote hosts. I can't get them to upgrade their mics to something a bit more substantial so many are using the $40 Samson (USB) Go-Mic, connecting to us live thru ZOOM mostly via Windows computers.

What I need them to have on their computers is a single-slot audio-only VST host that can support a 'channel strip' plug in (like the VB Audio "Striptool"), so their mics can get a touch of processing and noise-gating at the sending end, piped right into the browser/Zoom app, and then off to me.

SAVI seemed promising, but I got it to work only with MIDI and not audio. My hosts arent computer-savvy enough to open a DAW like Audacity or Reaper and use the feed-thru function. What they need is:
USB MIC > VST HOST/PROC > ZOOM,
with a bare minimum of dials and doodads in between to go wrong.

I love complexity and tweaking lots of settings myself, but my hosts need drop-dead simplicity. If you've done this, or can suggest something you know works (not a guess), I'm listening. And thanks.

Have you tried VSTHost by the same author?

The simplest I've found is a small tool called AudioPluginHost in the JUCE framework's "extras" directory, but you'll need to build it yourself.
