Not long ago, several weeks ago, isearch loaded itself into my homepage without my consent.
Coincidently this happened right after I purchased and downloaded McAfee version 8.0 anti-virus program.

It actually replaced my AT&T homepage with it's own without my permission.
I think it is responsible for the adware planted in my system which is causing occassional pop-ups and frequent firewall alerts.

Does anyone know how I can remove this piece of unwanted crap?I have searched all my C files and cannot find it anywhere to remove it.

problem solved, after doing a lot of research I wound up purchasing Pest Patrol, software which detects and removes spyware, adware, etc.

They offer a free scan, turned out I had quite a few files in my registry.
The full download installed, scanned and found over 1374 suspected and confirmed adware, spyware stuff.
Also detects and deletes this stuff while surfing.

My system had become so bogged down it was running very slow, after the deleted files were removed I can't believe how fast my system is again.

Highly recommend this pkg if you are having any trouble at all.
