audiophile firewire and ableton live problems--

hello ive been having lot of trouble with my firewire audiophile device and ableton live 2 . when using asio drivers , audio just stops after a few seconds and need to restart the whole thing,drives me nuts.. i ve tried to contact maudio but then nothing.. by the way im usin laptop hp pavilion 2.8 Ghz 500 ram. im use cubase sx2 too, and doesnt give me that much trouble ... also anyone knows how to modify the latency in this device..
