Hello, I'm looking for an external SSD to store my sample libraries- I have a MacBook Pro 2017 16 RAM 256gb.
I was thinking about the Samsung Evo 850 500gb as an external ssd, is this a good choice?
Also, would I need to purchase a separate HD to case, SATA to USB-C cable to connect it to my laptop computer?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks
External ssd?

I ran a 500Gb SSD via USB to my old MSI for several years. Worked flawlessly. I just had the SSD naked sitting on a safe place on the desk.

You can get the 850 Evo with a "starter kit" here, which, if i understand it correctly, provides external USB usage with a connector: https://www.samsung.com/de/memory-stora ... -75E250RW/ You'd just need a USB to USB-C connector, which you also can get cheap on Amazon or so.
