A few years ago, I had a quick and simple online site, but it must have been dismantled. Might anyone recommend a simple online converter? Maybe even to wav? I've tried a number of them, and they either get errors or behave suspiciously.

I usually take JDownloader 2 for that purpose. It lets you save the audio stream as MP3, or other formats. Might be a bit overkill for your uses, as it is actually rather a file downloader for file hosting sites, but, it does a bit of everything. It's available as a Java Jar, so, you don't install it in a common manner. You just unpack the Jar to a folder, and it installs and updates itself, when you click on the Jar, as a portable installations, so, no files cluttered over the harddrive.

You can also download Youtube videos with it, BTW, among many other things.

Hey, great suggestion - I just downloaded it and got a live album (Nico - live in Milwaukee 1980) that I've always wanted to "have," threw it into Logic, cut it up, bounced it - and I now have a "CD." And that's just the beginning...
