Guys, this started some days ago. My ADSL has "good" and "bad" days, and I have no clue on what's going on.

Here are the symptoms.

Yesterday everything was working ok. Sites were loading, no problems.

Today, I started up the computers, normally, just like I did yesterday. I waited for all the lights on the ADSL router to turn ON before powering the 2 PCs.

But, now, every time I try to load a site, it takes almost 20 seconds and fails. On BOTH computers. Both Windows-XP, one is HOME other is PROFESSIONAL. (mine) I get "server not found" message. If I try again, nothing. It only loads after 10 refreshs, or if I close the browser, open, and try again. I had to try to post this message twice, the same error...

What could be the problem here?

Any help is apreciated.

if you think its a dns issue, you couold do an ip config /all and manually add your dns servers, and promote a different dns server as teh primary and see if that helps. what happens if you try to connect without going through your router? since 2 pcs are affected, its either the isp or the line or the router..

The router is the ADSL modem, is a 2 in 1 thingy.

There are already 2 DNS servers set, should I add more, which ones?

200.193.136.60
200.203.191.8

Those were added by the ISP guy...

I removed the DNS server information, is now using the Router IP as the DNS server. So far so good, everything is working again, without having to restart Windows. Could that be the problem? So the ISP-Guy did a nasty thing?

It could just be that the dns servers listed were overloaded or flaking out, and letting DHCP configure your DNS gave you different DNS servers. thats what I was trying to do by having you type them in manually, and promoting the secondary to primary. but you should be all set if its working now.

I guess now the Router is the one doing that. Since is working, I will leave like that for now.
