Hi
When you try to use multiple instances of Live like Live9 (10) with 8 (or 9) the browser becomes totally empty. Are there any known solution for this issue?

This happens if you open 9 or 10 while one or more Live program is launched already. Live 8's browser doesn't have this issue and I was utilizing multiple instances. It was actually useful.

i'm just curious, what are you using 'multiple copies' for?

The browser changed drastically with v9 ... so could be that. No idea why you would need 2 different versions running together tho ... :?

I can definitely see why one would do it. Comparing projects, comparing track settings, copying tracks, copying clips. Loads of reasons.

But Live is backwards compatible. Your old projects should always load in the latest version. Is it possible to run more than one instance of the same version I wonder ... I've never thought to try it tbh. I've got Live 10 & the Live 10 Beta installed ... hmmm :? :ud:

What I meant was say I have a Live 10 project and I’d like to copy various settings and/or clips you’d open another Live 10 session to copy them over.

Yes, there is a menu setting to allow the opening of multiple instances.

Create 2 versions of mix, try different edit side by side. In Live 8 you can use browser in both versions of mix. In Live 9 or 10, you can't use browser in the mix you opened afterward.

Open old project, do experiment and bring them to existing newer project while keeping project open in which I'm doing experiment. The products(track/sample) of the experiment are showed up in your L8 browser in both instances, so you can transfer the portion derived from you old project to new one through browser immediately.

Cheers. I get it now. Not something I've ever done, but I can see how it could be useful.

Maybe they could re-introduce it?
