Korg has released Electribe Wave for iPad at an introductory price of $19.99 (33% off / Reg. $29.99) until September 30th, 2018, in the App Store.

Powerful wavetable sound suitable for the latest in EDM

ELECTRIBE Wave has a sound wavetable featuring sounds widely used in the latest music creation. Unlike a PCM synth, the wavetable allows you to repeatedly play fragments of short waveforms, and change the waveform position during playback. By combining the wavetable (which features a rich variety of presets) with a powerful filter and two modulation units, you can create an infinite number of innovative and sharp sounds that cannot be produced using standard PCM synths. Even without a deep knowledge of synthesis techniques, the carefully selected parameters make it easy to craft your sound.

I’m kind of meh on this one too. I watched the into video, and it seems like it’s being sold as an instant wobble bass EDM groovebox which just happens to have wavetable oscillators. Does this offer anything compelling over the many outstanding wavetable synths already on the market?
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Anyone tested it? I had an old Electribe and it was amazing for fast prototyping and making grooves on the go. I even used it at home sometimes because it was much faster than booting up the whole DAW and hardware.

Is this new Electribe Wave thing good for this?

I don't think it compares to the hardware Electribe at all. None of them do.

I beg to differ! Inputting notes or changing velocities seems to be much much easier on the Wave than on the hardware where you need to menu dive for each and everything (even using shift commands does not take you there quickly).

Yes. but if the rest of this doesn't compare, it really doesn't matter.
