Any thoughts on this one?
It's currently available for 2 bucks at Plugin Boutique.
I know there is a lot of hatred for this company in general but I was hoping (maybe in vain) for some objective opinions on the sound and usefulness of this particular synth.
Thanks!

I bought this to get iZotope Ozone Elements for free and not even that worked out properly...

Obviously you should buy Twist to best case upgrade to their Premier Collection.
Support seems to be very bad (no own experience).

I am also interested in Sonivox' stuff in general, even though their products could be a useless long-term investment. What do you guys think about that?

Twist failed to install for me - ilok shows as activated but does not show up in DAW - got errors on the serial, got bad machine bindings error. Unistalled it. That's twice I've had products that won't work from Sonivox (Timewarp2600 is the other one). With Timewarp2600 they were nice about a refund, so I think they seem a decent enough company but life is too short to dick around with software that isn't up to task so Sonivox are on my "remember not to buy from them again" list. Which I will no doubt forget.

One hour ago the mail came from Plugin Boutique. Now it‘s installed and everything‘s fine. :tu:

I'm just copying what I've written before but: "Sonivox, if anything, are specialists in sampling and they've licensed to a fair few software-instrument vendors. The orchestral instruments in Ableton Live Suite were produced by Sonivox.

"It's their own software where things seem to go awry in my experience."

Twist itself defies the concept of a no-brainer and makes you consider how much you spend in time on a plugin and not just the dollar value.

The idea sounds good; the instrument itself is terrible in almost every aspect. It's actually quite remarkable how poorly implemented it is, though I am reliably informed Wobble is worse (I have the bundle but never installed it). I have tried to use it in the belief that even two strings nailed to a board can work in the right context. But the actual quality of the manipulation is not very good and frequently extremely limited partly because of the samples they've included. As an upgrade path to the bundle, possibly worth considering, though you do have to factor in the crashiness of Sonivox code - some of the sample instruments use unencrypted samples so you can plug them into other things (but it's by no means all).

Ok, now we're getting somewhere.

It would be much more interesting if you could load your own samples into it, then twist them up. But since you have no idea what source material was used in the factory presets, it's sort of a black box pot luck guessing game thingy. I couldn't really get any sounds out of it that sounded good to me.

For $2, you are much better off getting Vacuum Pro and Hybrid 3 for $1 each!!!
Windows 10 and too many plugins

I got vacuum pro and a soundpack but no izotope8 elements discount voucher

What is this supposed Izotope elements deal all about?
I hadn't seen anything about that (though I get so much Izotope spam, I tend to ignore the name when I see it now).

Did the same, bought Twist to get Ozone Elements for two bucks. Haven't tried any of them. :D

From this thread it seems like a bad idea to even download Twist. :?

Still wondering if OE has any value: maximiser, EQ and stereo thingy... well maybe. Any thoughts on OE?
