Hey folks,

Can anyone recommend a good DAW for batch editing 20,000 MIDI files at once?

I need to work with a lot of drum loops.

Thanks for your help!

REAPER 5.9x could do it for sure.

I would like to know if the other DAWs could do it too.

Batch editing means to apply some process to, all of them or it doesn’t make sense. What do you want to do exactly?

For sure the free pure data can do it, but its not a DAW and batch editing doesn’t need to be done in a DAW anyway. You would throw the processed file just in there if you tend to make music with it... But within Pd you can create also music if you think more algorithmically... Same applies for the big cousine of Pd, Max/MSP... And if you have Live and Max4Live you got Max/MSP as well.
But I know you can’t afford that expensive stuff anyway and you know that the cheapest path is to get that damn Reaper NOW!
Just skip all the meat for a month, that would pay for it and would benefit the environment and your health. If you are already vegan, instead of buying apples, go out and harvest in nature, most of the food you need is free...

nope
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.
