Hi,

I'm on Kontakt 5.5.1. A while ago I bought and registered the Scarbee Funk Guitar and used it off and on over a few months. Now I find it's in demo mode. I see in my NI account that they have it as still unregistered. Strange. It provides a serial but then the dreaded words, "Download via Native Access".

The reason I have not updated past 5.5.1 is precisely to avoid Native Access. (Re Native Access with Kontakt 5: Let's please *not* sidetrack the discussion by saying I really should give it a try, no effing way, I've read way too many tales of user woe about Native Access and simply will not install much less run this app, and risk breaking a Kontakt 5 setup which, except for this one instrument, works just fine.)

I tried the old Service Center but it fails. What can I do? I'd just love to get use of my instrument back. Happy to enter my serial again if they just give me a place to do it.

By the way, all my software is legit.

A related question: if I upgraded to Kontakt 6 (not too expensive for me at £89), can I keep / use my 5.5.1 setup on the same machine? Will it be "left alone" if I install Kontakt 6, *alllowing* Native Acess to do its thing as needed to K6, but not disturbing my K5 setup in any way?

Update: solved. Played with it 15 minutes in demo mode, and when the time was up it asked me register it at gave me the form for the serial. All is fine now.

I had three SonicCouture libraries go to demo mode after I Time-Machine migrated to the new machine. I tried everything. Finally what it was, was these three were initiated via a different email than the rest. I'd forgotten about that.

Then Kontakt 5 somehow migrated to a different folder, as did Reaktor 5. And something I do not remember installing at all anytime in the last decade: Kontakt 2 Player.
The former two needed reinstalling. There is no help for the forlorn K2 Player, Service Center (which is quite broken under this OS) included. A curiosity, this; for more than one reason. The only one I see at my products is a Garritan/Finale one from like 2006 but that didn't sort it either.

The single really irritating thing to me about NA was it forced me to install the Kontakt Factory Library on a system drive where there was no room for it, causing a lot of copying back and forth.

It's two different programs, as K4 vis a vis K5 etc was; so yes.
