anyone using a dual boot with bootmagic?

Hi,

I'm struggling to get my head around how to set up a dual boot system with BootMagic.

I have an 80Gb hard drive, split into 3 partitions. On C: I have my basic Windows XP setup, with internet, word processing, etc etc. I'm trying to put a totally separate XP installation onto D: so that I can have a completely separate OS for audio. E: is for all my audio files and projects.

I install Windows XP as normal onto the C: drive. I then install BootMagic onto C: drive. Obviously at this point I only have one OS to choose from in the BootMagic menu on booting.

Following the BootMagic instructions, I add my D: partition to the BootMagic menu. Obviously at this point I don't have on OS on D:. I then install Windows XP onto D:.

Now if I reboot, the D: OS does not show up in the BootMagic menu. The D: partition does still show up, but just hangs if selected. So, as per the BootMagic instructions, I try to boot to the C: OS. When I do this I get the Windows option screen (not the BootMagic option screen) giving me a choice of two Windows XP systems to load. If I choose the first, my D: OS loads, if the second, the C: OS loads. But they are not completely separate OSs, as the computer is clearly booting first to the C: drive, then to D: once I choose the relevant option.

When I elect to load the C: OS, and go into the BootMagic configuration to add the D: OS to the BootMagic menu, the D: OS does not show up and I cannot add it. Very confused...

I really need a step-by-step guide to installing the 2 separate systems, as I am really struggling now having tried umpteen different ways and reinstalls etc...
