I'm having trouble relating either of your posts to what is on the web site. Either I am really stupid or your web site hasn't been updated.

Cool, sf2.
I'm still planning on buying this set sooner or later.
I'm also interested in the percussion used in the avp_demo001. What can you tell us about the "ARTificialD&P" samples and when will they be out?

Now is the Sf2 info added in the store with all AVP SampleSets. You do not have to select format when ordering AVP all formats are included in the price.
About ARTificialD&P;
We are planning to release these soon, probably in September or October. There is a lot of new stuff on the way and next up will be the "Kloo Mandolin"
ARTificialD&P will be released in Vol.1 & 2. Formats;
SoundFont (16bit), HALion/Kontakt (24bit)

ok this is probably a really stupid question but as Kontakt user of the AVP do I need this update? I bought mine about a month ago and I'm really happy with it but I don't really understand this sampling stuff yet!

I shouldn’t think so. As I understand it, the update simply adds another sample format to the list so that in addition to Giga, HALion and Kontakt, the library is now also available in Soundfont format. If you’re just using the library in Kontakt, the update isn’t important to you.ChamomileShark wrote:ok this is probably a really stupid question but as Kontakt user of the AVP do I need this update?

No you do not need this update. The soundfont is another format so people with SBlive/Audigy cards and Reason NN-XT and others could use AVP.
NN-XT does not play SoundFonts but it converts the AVP soundfonts 100%.
Of course HALion, Kontakt converts soundfont too, but AVP is originaly recorded in 24bit format and we started the AVP project with only Kontakt/HALion support. In time of release we did soundfonts/Giga and released the Giga first... But the Gig versions is the most useless because Gigasampler converts AVP SoundFont 100%. And i don´t know of any native sampler who reads giga but not soundfonts..
So if you have HALion or Kontakt. you only need the .exe that is 24bit and with special programs for these samplers.
And if you use another sampler, go with the soundfont versions.
