I have found one thing not working in High Sierra even: Spitfire LABS AU.
as to Mojave, I see Steinberg don't do it and NI 'still testing!'. I'm not sure what would motivate a DAW user to upgrade here.

Boredom?
The switch from Sierra to Mojave has been surprisingly seamless afa Logic is concerned. Computer boots in about 20secs, everything validated, can't be sure if everything is right straight away, but no ugly surprises so far.

TBH, this could be the most underwhelming update to Mac OS yet. Reading through the description, there is literally nothing I could give a fig about. It all seems a bit trivial and what is becoming the norm with Apple these days...a "re-imagined" App store? Give me a break!

C'mon, new dark theme at least.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?

Yes, nowadays, a reskin is enough to call it a new OS
OTOH, I think things are not as peaceful. Make Music detected some problems with Finale in the Betas, although the release version seems to have restored compatibility. Could it be that Apple suddenly discovered how good it is to keep retro compatibility?
We had before the surprise of having Peak (that was unable to launch in El Capitan) working again in Sierra.

It's important for those of us with fusion drives, which HS wasn't designed to work with. Mojave feels as good or better than Sierra. All of my plugins authenticated and work fine, with the exception of Logic 9.
And the Dark Mode is KEWL! I can go full screen on iTunes and just chill in the relative darkness.

I'm never an early adopter. It has to be shown to work really widely with what I use. I'm on 10.13 because I bought the new MBP. I have only seen the one thing not work as per usual and it doesn't work at_all. Steinberg and NI say don't do it until further notice and that's that.
I use the bright white light in Finder as a lamp sometimes so the dark mode doesn't say that much to me.

Hmmm, My iMac has a Fusion drive but I'm not about to be part of the beta testing in the wild of APFS. I'll wait and see how the early adopters fair in a few months at best.Bombadil wrote: Sat Sep 29, 2018 8:07 pm It's important for those of us with fusion drives, which HS wasn't designed to work with. Normally, I agrees widyouz...i din't even go near HS, only went to Sierra when 10.4 came out. I've been very conservative, innst regard, yeknoe?
But sometimes, as that saying from 'Risky Business' goes:
"Sometimes ya just gotta say fugget."

on a more serious note, the blurb suggests that APFS should result in less beach balls. This is not a problem with Logic, Reason or Cubase....but Ableton!!!! Good grief, it behaves like such a dog these days with regards to opening the program, opening instruments, saving and pretty much everything, I am all but ready to ditch it for good. Anyone who has switched to Mojave noticed an improvement with Ableton in this case?

It's free... so even some minor workflow improvements are welcome.jacqueslacouth wrote: Sat Sep 29, 2018 7:45 pm TBH, this could be the most underwhelming update to Mac OS yet. Personally, I like the continuity camera feature... I make docs in keynote and pages regularly and now I can take a photo on my phone and it automatically appears in the document. Cool...
I like the quick look feature... so I can make quick edits or markup to documents right in the finder without opening them. Useful...
Desktop stacks are a nice touch...
I certainly appreciate the privacy improvements in Safari
And I'm pleased the Voice Memos app was ported from iOS

I can certainly see the value for a user like yourself who is more invested in the Apple ecosystem. I really use my Mac for music production only. Everything else is Windows and Android, so not so much for me....all power to those that get more out of this though...I just hope there is no software breakages for me.pdxindy wrote: Sun Sep 30, 2018 6:11 amIt's free... so even some minor workflow improvements are welcome.jacqueslacouth wrote: Sat Sep 29, 2018 7:45 pm TBH, this could be the most underwhelming update to Mac OS yet.
