hey Im wondering how to activate parameters with an audio signal. either in ableton/maxforlive or fl studio or pro tools

so when a signal comes in, depending on its volume it will lower or raise a parameter in any effect/synth

hopefully with some settings like max/min value for parameter or whether it should lower or raise... kinda like some sidechain options some effects have

There are various Audio to Midi controller converter plugins.
There are free bundle of VST midi plugins in Insert Piz Here -forum on KVR.
Audio to midi is there too called midiAudioToCC.

Real handy load of helpers.

Core Library comes with a Envelope Follower M4L device.

It is in "Core Library/Devices/Audio Effects/Max Audio Effect".
