Nope.. XP Lite does not contain any operating system. It is a package for tweaking Windows 2000 or XP so that you can (relatively) safely remove previously 'locked in' components such as IE. You may be able to create a set of install files for

BTW that file metioned early is actually called sysoc.inf.. Beyond that I know nothing about it.. I wouldn't monkey with removing IE by hand (without using XPlite) unless you know a LOT about it.

By the way, does Fresh Download do download queuing? I Googled for 'Fresh Download Sucks' :hihi: And apparently it monkey's with your IE settings, which I'd rather avoid. But if it queues, and allows me to listen to mp3s with Winamp as they download (preferably without having to rename them at the end, so I don't end up with a directory full of .part files like I do with Firefox), then it's worth a look.

And no I won't use Opera, it's a great browser, but lagging behind Firefox on the compatibility front.

Any other good download manager suggestions people?

I thoguth getright had shut shop !! how very stupid of me... freshdown doesnt seem to integrate well with firefox.. i have to manually drag files to fresh download.. on clicking a FTP link the default download is that of firefox... the integrate options in freshdownload are those of IE, Netscape, (opera, dissabled) and Mozilla (dissabled) by disabled i mean that those option are greyed out.

BTW that file metioned early is actually called sysoc.inf..
typo

An i just uinstalled IE.. i actually have been removing IE as default tweaking now for quite a while
and never had any problems... the sysoc file has hidden applications (such as IE outlook MSN etc.) that u could otherwise uninstall or choose to install during the 98 daz..

www.musicxp.net for more details.

i seriously would not know... (what is queing) it has a schedule function if thats what ure asking for..

ill chech out getright now...

Star downloader is good. It splits files into managable chunks and can be paused which is handy :)

...not sure about Linux or Firefox though.
