iZotope UI feels laggy?

TBC? What is that?
And no, I've never experienced any lag issues with any of the iZotope plugs I own. I'm on PC though so maybe it's a problem with Mac versions of their plugs? I dunno.

Tonal Balance Control. And ditto - seems to perform fine for me.
@Ploki: TBC takes time to respond to your changes (and to analyze) as it's doing machine learning whenever it's ran. Also, as far as other displays, you might play with the FPS settings in the advanced settings.

I don't mean laggy as in "takes time to respond" as for example long integration in high-res FFTs or 5s average meters.EnochLight wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 2:59 pmTonal Balance Control. And ditto - seems to perform fine for me.

I mean laggy as in 5fps animation, and suspended animation when adjust EQ and stuff like that.

Personally, I haven't experienced any issues in that department either.Ploki wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 3:24 pmI don't mean laggy as in "takes time to respond" as for example long integration in high-res FFTs or 5s average meters.EnochLight wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 2:59 pmTonal Balance Control. I have no issues of this sort. I'm running it on an almost 7 year old i7 3770K and a 10 year old Geforce 8800 GTS, and in Reason no less (which currently has the worst VST-performance handling out of all the DAW). Sounds like you have a deeper issue at hand.Ploki wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 3:24 pm I mean laggy as in 5fps animation, and suspended animation when adjust EQ and stuff like that.
What's your system specs? Specifically, what CPU? RAM? Etc?

AU or VST shouldn't make a difference. So you're saying you're having the same issue on a 2012 Macbook Pro as well as your new 2018 Macbook Pro? Do you have the exact same version of OSX on both?Ploki wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 6:52 pm 2018 15" MBP, i9, 32GB RAM...
I mean.. should work fine.
It did the same on the 2012 retina macbook pro.
But you're using VST - I'm using Audio Units
I did a complete reinstall few months ago so the system should be clean, at least i'm keeping it clean.
On an aside, and this really isn't directed towards you, but it always makes me chuckle when Mac users, when asked what CPU they have, often only get as far as answering "5", "i7" or "i9". Doesn't anyone know their actual CPU model these days?

I get what you mean, but to my defense, there's literally only a single model of the mobile 8th gen core i9 CPU as we speak, the 8950HK. Any mobile i9 can only be 8950HK and literally nothing else. So... Being a smarty-pants maybe you should've known thatEnochLight wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 8:31 pmAU or VST shouldn't make a difference. Nah, I (have had) 10.13.6 on 2012 but it was the same both on 10.14 and 10.13.
I know AU or VST shouldn't make a difference, i don't have VST versions installed but AU versions are "PluginHooksAU" whatever that means

The same behaviour was there on 10.13 - i can't find a compatibility statement but i suspect it's the same gatekeeper thing as beforerisome wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 11:04 pm As i always do before i update my Mac OS i check here to make sure all my plugins are compatible .

yep, Izotope UI are buggy and very laggy.
that not only the UI, their plugins are real cpu hog for no special reasons.. at iZotope they have good ears but don't know how to code.

ouch, even if izotope ui are laggy they are usable, you have a special issue on your system.I mean laggy as in 5fps animation, and suspended animation when adjust EQ and stuff like that.

I hear you. That 8950HK should slice through anything - its single thread performance gets darn close to the new 9900K, and multi-thread isn't bad either. That said (and again, I'm not bust'n your chops or anything) as a courtesy to those trying to help you, it makes it a ton easier for us to know exactly what CPU you have when troubleshooting. Apple makes a plethora of products and there's too many of them to keep track of. We shouldn't have to reference an Apple product page and dig through specs.Ploki wrote: Thu Nov 01, 2018 10:14 pm I get what you mean, but to my defense, there's literally only a single model of the mobile 8th gen core i9 CPU as we speak, the 8950HK. Anyway, it sounds like you might have uncovered a bug - maybe report it to iZotope? Despite what drdriller said, I'm running Ozone and Neutron on a pretty old CPU and video card, in the worst performing DAW (currently) out there, and my displays play back absolutely fine. But then again, I'm on Windows 10. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I had the slow add/open/remove issue with the first version of Neutron (especially with Tone Balance Control). It seems they fixed it. Now I haven't any problem with Neutron 2 and Ozone 8 as well as with separated plugins.
