So it's only $30, but I'm not really sure what new features the Elements version actually gets.
Looking at the comparison chart on Steinberg's site, it looks like all that's new in the Elements version is :
- GA SE 5
- Pictures of plugins ? (maybe, I can't tell by the chart)
- Updated UI's on a couple of the older plugins (maybe)
- And the new flat UI (that the opinions seems to be split on from what I've read).

Is that it, or did I miss something else ?

Also it looks like version 10 might actually lose a couple of things too, the HS SE Trip sound package, and the ability to customize the UI element colors.

Hopefully somebody that's updated can chime in.
Thanks.

One undocumented feature that has surprisingly appeared in C10 Elements for me is Quick Controls. I went from C9 to C10, so maybe this appeared in 9.5, dunno, but according to their comparison chart thing it shouldn't be there. But it is.

Thanks for the reply !
I do have the Quick Controls here in 9.5.
I didn't remember if that was something new in 9.0 or 9.5, so you're probably right that it was new in 9.5.

So far it doesn't seem like a compelling upgrade, for me anyway.
I have no issues with GA SE 4, and I like my customized UI colors, so I'm still not sure if the new GA is worth $30 to me.

Thanks again for the reply.

With Elements 10 you'll get:
Redesigned channel strip
Some menus and windows are redesigned
Groove Agent SE 5
Tons of additional loops and samples
Support for 32 bit integer and 64 bit float audio
Latency monitor
New GUI and HiDPI high resolution support
Effects can be launched from the media rack
New skins for most native plugins
New plugin: Midigate (don't know yet what it does)

Hey Giova, thanks for the reply !
Sorry, I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. :?

- I didn't even notice the channel strip changes, looks pretty cool now !
The only video I found was for the Pro version, you wouldn't happen to know if Elements 10 picked up the Magneto II tape sat. in the channel strip, would you ? That would be really nice ! (and wishful thinking)

- I can't tell from the website, but did Groove Agent SE5 gain any additional content in Elements ?

- I don't use a lot of loops, but I reckon the old adage of "more is better" never hurts when it comes to free loops. :)
- Also I think 9.5 already has the new audio engine, since I can select 64 bit float audio in the "VST Audio System" dialog now.

- I didn't see anything about Midigate so I'm not really sure what that is either, I will have to dig around some more.

- So the launching effects from the media rack, is that dragging effects to tracks to insert them ?
Wasn't sure if Elements got that feature.

Thanks again, and sorry again for all the questions.

No, Magneto is not there.
Yes, there's a new drum kit in Groove Agent SE 5.
Yes, now you can drag effects to tracks, and you can have thumbnails of your plugins in the media rack.

Thank you guys, that's very helpful !
