Cubase AI? Anybody use it?

I'm about to order Steinberg UR12 audio interface and noticed it comes with Cubase AI. I don't care much for light versions of DAW so I initially didn't care. Then I saw it comes with over 30 tracks you can use which is more then enough for me to complete songs.
My question is does anybody have or use this software? Is it even worth installing since I already use Reaper, Ableton10, and Waveform9?

Of all those light versions of DAW, Cubase AI is the more functional and less crippled. You can have 32 audio tracks and 16 instrument tracks per project, 4 vst inserts per track, 8 groups and 4 FX sends, more than enough for small, home studio projects.
But anyway, you already have 3 full DAW so you probably won't need Cubase AI.

I have AI8 on my laptop for mobile recording. Does the job perfectly. For mixing and anything else I just transfer the project to my studio PC.

I have ur12 and of course cubase ai. I upgraded it for 50 for Cubase Elements 10.
I can say one thing: other DAWs have extra features compared to elements (and AI)
----AI and Elements have the same basic features except AI has less ...Channels (audio, VSTi, return, FX)-------
like render in place, timewarping(special timestretching), fx in items, etc
BUT I LIKE THE ELEMENTS GUI BETTER so i use elements...
if you too prefer the cubase GUI better, fear not, use it.
====>it has enough functionality to replace the other DAWs and be your main DAW.
====>Don't be afraid of the restrictions.
Then if you want more channels, you can always upgrade for 50 in the steiberg site to the Elements version
AND you can upgrade to the artist version (AI to Cubase Artist 10) for 150euros on the Thomman site,
which is a very competitive price compared to other DAWs.(The upgrade includes the usb elicenser in the box).
Let's do a basic comparison with no channel numbers and included VST,VSTi taking in mind:
Reaper: advanced timestretching, items FX, Render in place, HORRIBLE UI WHICH YOU MUST BUILD YOURSELF (I own REaper and I like it equally to Elements!!!! don't start a flame war!)
Ableton: advanced timestretching, Session View, Modern UI, flatten(MEH render)
Studio One: advanced timestretching, chord track, render in place, Modern UI
Samplitude X3:advanced timestretching, no chord track, item render, item FX, MEH GUI
Cubase AI: Basic timestretching, chord track, sampler track, unfreeze and keep audio
(workaround for render but better than ableton flatten - it doesn't remove the vsti track), Modern UI (some say the BEST), the best midi UI (most people agree),
at least conserning the CPU equally efficient to others or even better
(steinberg is the creator of the vst technology) and flawless integration with your
UR12....
In version 10 there are some bugs (as in every new software) but will soon be ironed out.

Yeah, from what I gathered, besides Pro Tools LE it's the most functional and used hardware gift DAW, people actually stick to it and make music with it, so it's not just worth as an upgrade coupon or glorified demo.Giova942 wrote: Fri Nov 30, 2018 5:36 pm Of all those light versions of DAW, Cubase AI is the more functional and less crippled.
This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here?
