Who's using N-Track?

I was intrigued by the latest release of n-Track. I tried it in the past but had some stability issues. I noticed it supports MTC which is something Tracktion does not have. I'm only comparing the two because of the price similarity. I currently use and like Tracktion but I would love to have MTC support. Could anyone tell me how their experience has been and what audio interface/audio drivers are being used?

Thanks

If you want a lot of bugs, go for it.

I mean a lot.

Im sure you could have fun at the user forum, where the bugs are always your fault.... funny how you can run any other software just fine.. then have a bug n-track displays and 20 other users with the same thing... not a bug, user error.

Wow, Robert is back! :-o

Still true to form. :D

How's Florida, I recently moved to Houston,Tx and trying to find some other gearheads.(Talked with S-A-P)

Anyway, thanks for the info. Think I might wait for Tracktion2 or spring for Sonar4 when it comes out.

Also thinking about Samplitude 8

Sorry, I have a particular distaste for n-track...

but I did use it for almost 5 years? after version 2.3 it really started to go downhill.

I know some real cool gusys in houston... check out www.tapeop.com the forum over there, some cool gearheads in houston over here.

PM time too ;)

Well, I use it, with very few crashes. Yes it does fall behind in some areas, but I have never experienced the bugs that Robert has (but since this is very old ground, I won't drag it up).

v4 is just out of Beta. It has some improvements all around, greater flexibility in swapping DSP fx around, compressor built-in to every strip, still got its exceptional group routing, etc. There are issues still being resolved with this release.

v3.3 still works well.

All depends what you want to use at the end of the day. There are happy campers in most SoftStudios, and always those who are against it. Basically see what works for you.

I could never get it to loop a phrase, midi or audio, without it pausing before looping, totally shite

As good as that? Hmmm, it must have improved a hell of a lot since I last tried it then.
RIP Black Tom and Beckett. They weren't just cats, they were MY cats, the best cats ever.

I must say every single problem Ive had has been confirmed by the dev (who offers great support) or at least 10 other people... If It wasnt something many people experienced I worked and worked till it was fixed....

Of course this is the onyl software Im aware of where you must work to find how your machine should be setup for the software....

Eh, I still, and always will love n-track though. If it wasnt so damn incredibly buggy. I tried the 4.0 demo and it's even worse.... within 15 minutes I found 4 serious bugs that I could reproduce very easily on the 2 computers Ive tried.

Trust me, I really dont want to have anything bad to say about n-track. I used it faithfully for 5 years and never wanted to stop ;(

:hihi:

what a complete waste of my money it was to purchase it

that's odd... I found it quite good. There are some differences from others of its kind, but I didn't find it to stand out, except for price. I would say, try the demo, and use it as much as you possibly can before making up your mind, and it's important to notice how people here are reacting... I'm sure there is a reason. Naturally you must take other peoples experiences as related with the understanding that not everyone has the same computer, or way of working.
Good luck.

Yep, I'm using Tracktion which I like, but Tracktion does not export MTC. I need to sync my external hardware synths. Anyway looking at some other stuff to include Podium, Magix Music Studio 2005 and SawBasic (if I can get that much money). There's rumors that Tracktion 2 might have it but when will that be?[/quote]

i use it here. of course i do ALL my drum tracks, synths, and midi shite in FL studio. n-track is great for audio recording and very easy to work with for drawing various envelopes. for what you pay its not bad. although its getting comparable to tracktion price-wise with the 4.0 release.
