Again, yes clearly it's my fault. I already acknowledged that. First their system was down preventing me from logging in. Then I asked for support and followed their instructions. I take full blame for all of this.

Yeah - I loved Waves better when they didn't try to turn me into a cash cow.
A lot of their money making practices are based on artificially creating problems where there should have not been any, including charging you for retrieving your licenses from a computer you can't access anymore (if it happens more than once a year) and forcing you to dig deep into the website to find the offline installer to feed Waves Central if you didn't keep up with renewing the license for their latest updates. It's all the little things that put together give me the impression of a company that doesn't look after me.
I'm selling my waves account, now, and can't wait to get rid of them as fast as I can. I shall miss some of those cool plugins, but I've had enough.
There are dozens of other brands that produce plugins that are just as good, for which you pay only once and you authorise / unauthorise from everywhere in the world where you can access a browser.

Waves takes piracy seriously, the reason they are strict with their policies. You should take your handling of your licenses seriously too, it's only fair.trtzbass wrote: ↑Sat Dec 22, 2018 12:57 am Yeah - I loved Waves better when they didn't try to turn me into a cash cow.

Yes it’s their own interest to do so. And use that excuse to charge me money while making me jump through hoops. I’m trying to transfer a license for one of their plugins to a person who bought it from me.
We are in the third day since I sent my request and they didn’t acknowledge either me or the other person. Of course I had to pay money to reinstate their support plan, because why wouldn’t you take the chance of milking me for more money? Then of course I’m paying also 10% of the value of the plugin, as a transfer fee (which is the only fair bit of the whole transaction)
And still, you can torrent cracked versions of all their plugins.
I’m all about fighting piracy, but they are just being unfair because they can.

YOU have to read, plan and follow directions on how YOU handle YOUR licenses.
They even give YOU a free grace "mistake" of YOUR handling, and if YOU mess up again, that's on YOU.

I have never had a reason to sell or transfer anything from Waves, maybe that's half your problem. Trying to buy plugins on sale and then trying to resell them when they're not on sale is a silly idea to begin with.trtzbass wrote: ↑Sat Dec 22, 2018 9:28 amYes it’s their own interest to do so. Read their polices before purchasing and learn about what you're buying into, before complaining that you didn't know.
Everything is well documented and ready to be read, understood properly and fair.

Can anybody tell me where Waves Demo go once you install them? My first demo of Abbey Road Plates I let expire because I couldn't find it and thought it was 10 days not 7. Also dunno if I need to uninstall the demo of if they did it. Now I just installed H Reverb demo and still dunno where it is lol. My other Waves plugs show up.

Can't you simply search your directories for the name of the plugin you're looking for?SoundPorn wrote: ↑Sat Dec 22, 2018 4:52 pm Can anybody tell me where Waves Demo go once you install them? I would suggest starting with the same drive as your other Waves plugins.
Look mom, I did it myself, and I didn't have to notify Customer Services, I'm a real engineer now!

That's what I did and I can only find my regular Waves ones not the demo which tells me my daw knows where the Waves shell is, i don't know if mayber a demo uses a different one or something, the whole shell thing is a little confusing because i dont know of anybody who uses anything else like it.

I think your main "issue" is Ableton's handling of their browser directories and lack of customization.SoundPorn wrote: ↑Sat Dec 22, 2018 5:15 pm That's what I did and I can only find my regular Waves ones not the demo which tells me my daw knows where the Waves shell is, i don't know if mayber a demo uses a different one or something, the whole shell thing is a little confusing because i dont know of anybody who uses anything else like it.
