Available now. 20 gig download. Still no smart-tool of course...
Nothing makes me appreciate the workflow of Studio One, Ableton, or even Logic more than playing with Cubase again. So many cool features, such bad workflow.

Isn't there a smart tool available by right clicking? Or is that not what you are referring to?

That's not a smart tool - that's just a way to select a different tool manually (same with key modifiers). A smart tool is a multi-tool that automatically senses what you are doing and adapts itself. Every other DAW has one and many Cubase users over the years have asked for one, but Steinberg refuses to listen. They have a half-implemented one with the select tool (fades, loop, trim), but doesn't work with automation. In fact, I've been asking them to make it easier to trim automation using a range and they added that in 9 or 9.5 finally, but in their infinite wisdom, it requires you switching to the range tool and then if you want to adjust the individual points after you trim (for example to do a ramp), you have switch back to the select tool. Just a lot of tool switching back and forth that you don't need to do with other DAWs.morelia wrote: Fri Dec 21, 2018 11:27 pm Isn't there a smart tool available by right clicking? Gotcha. I think what you refer to is well done in Melodyne. You are right, Cubase workflow could be much improved with this.5Lives wrote: Fri Dec 21, 2018 11:56 pmThat's not a smart tool - that's just a way to select a different tool manually (same with key modifiers). I dunno I think that the mouse modifiers are pretty useful as-is. I do like the smart tool in Cakewalk but I find it difficult to use in Studio One. I think Cubase 9.5 has some pretty damn good workflow actually. Not sure about Cubase 10 though.

You can opt for a soft e license.

You can trial Pro if you already have an eLicenser, but its not very well labelled imo. https://www.steinberg.net/en/products/s ... ubase.html . It's the 2nd option in the small print under the big "You Already Have The eLicenser" headline.
IMO (again) it might be worth waiting for another update or two. C10 has good things going for it, but it's still quite early days.
