Hallo Guys,
I know there are some very proud Podium users here pls help..

I just moved from cubase, I can say it seems a very good product so far BUT>

In cubase I had all the different assignable MIDI tracks.. How can I do that in Podium? i.e. I'm using sampletank which has the option to assign different sounds to different MIDI channels; problem is that I can't assign my tracks in Podium to specific MIDI ch.

Right now I have 1 master group track with under it an audio part (which is ok, I can play with inserts and plugins quite nicely) and a MIDI one which is mapped to my sampletank 1+2...still, I can't give the track a set MIDI ch to work on.. I hope u could help me here... i.e. have track x to midi ch1,track y to midi ch2..etc.etc..

LAST> I wonder if any of u could tell me why I have an offset of 3 beats in my VST rec.
That is, I rec 4 beats with sampletank, no latency no lag--all ok. BUT when I stop rec, I don-t see all 4 beats recorded..but just my last beat, which also compares as beat 1 not 4...very weird I wonder what could that be

thx
bye

I have Podium and Sampletank, and think I may be able to help you. First thing you need to do is make sure you import Sampletank as a multi-timbral plugin. You'll see a section in the Wizard for importing VST's, the multi-timbral is import button is the last one in the section. Once you have imported it, look on the left hand side, you'll see the Mappings panel. When you open the mapping panel, you will see c01-c016. These are the 16 MIDI channels of Sampletank. Just drag and drop one of the c01-c016 mappings onto a track. So if I wanted my drum track to be MIDI channel 10; grab c10, and drop it on the drum track. Let me know if this helps.

I know of no problems as far as latency during recording. I think bouncing and rendering tracks are one of the strongest points of Podium. Can you explain this problem in greater detail, perhaps a step by step of what you are doing.

Hi Anf,
Thx x the reply. I can see u r an expert user of the prog. That is very helpful.

I just d/l Podium a few days ago and I'm playing with it, I come from cubase.

Sampletank: I simply assign a track under the master track to the plugin. press rec and start playing my controller. there's no latency issue whatsoever (5ms) everything plays in sync.
Still, when I stop rec, the 1st 3 bars of the track are missing and it all starts on my 4th bar of play.

e.g. press rec, play 4 bars, press stop= only 4th bar played is rec and is placed under bar 1 as if I just played that bar.. ?!?

I'm sure is something with s.tank since any other VST/plugin works just fine.

:help:

Nixis,

Can you copy that info you told me and paste it to the .http://www.zynewave.com message board for Podium. The programmer's name is Frits, he responds promptly to all inquiries and bug reports. If it's a bug he'll quickly rectify it, and if it's something that needs to be adjusted on your end, he'll give you step by step instructions on how to do it. I know he's refining a lot of the processes now, and is in the process of adding a EFX bussing system. Please call his attention to what problems you are having. Unlike the many software developers, Frits gets back to you quickly. I've used Sonar, Cubase, and a slew of others, I believe once Frits puts in the bussing system, Sonar and Cubase have some serious competition. For $90 compared to the big boys, it's a steal. Let me know how you make out.
