Looking for a replacement for MachineCodex Neutrino

For years I have been using MachineCodex Neutrino[1] for a somewhat uncommon use case: Live performance in church settings where all music is pre-recorded, arranged in a playlist, and played one track at a time.

Neutrino has been the perfect software for this because:
  • It can store multiple playlists in a sidebar browser
  • It can play a single track, and then stop
  • A non-technical person can run it with just arrow keys and enter
  • It has excellent built-in pitch and time shifting that can be setup per-track in advance
  • It supports AU plugins in the output chain.
In our use case, I setup the playlist and output chain in advance, make any necessary key or speed changes to individual tracks, and everything is ready to go for live performance.

However, Neutrino appears to be abandonware. It is 32-bit, and will (presumably) stop working after Mojave.

I have found nothing that can replace it. Everything else either doesn't allow one-hits in a play list, has no realtime pitch and time shifting, or cannot be easily controlled by someone without extensive knowledge of the interface (meaning that all DJ software I'm aware of is out).

Is there anything like this out there?

Hi Teilo,
I'm in the same situation as you. I tried to send an email to MachineCodex support but it doesn't respond and now that I use OS Catalina I can no longer use this excellent software. You solved or managed to contact someone at technical support (I remember exchanging a few emails with Mark). The site is still active even if it has not been updated for some time. They could at least say: no, we no longer develop this software and we no longer intend to update it. Sorry for the outburst but it is an excellent and useful software. Good luck. Hi Renato
