Hi all

Long time lurker here creeping out of the shadows.

This is a little tune I did recently.

http://www.theoryofone.net/Symbolic_Distance.mp3

I've posted on my new audioshot site http://www.theoryofone.net/ along with some other tunes.

I would appreciate some help with trying to categorize this style. I selected mellow electronica recently for another tune on sound click but to me It sounds like like lite-rock.

Any other comments are very welcome also :)

BTW does anyone know how I can shorten these addresses? I see you all have nice concise links. Please pardon my big ol' hanging long ass links and just click on em!

re: the links ...

if you look to the bottom left of the reply window , where you type your response , you will see a link for 'BBCode' ...

click the link , and read the section for 'creating a link to another site' ...

Been playing here for quite some time now. It grows on me quite a bit, although I should say I'm not that keen on the trumpet like sound.

What setup did you use for this?

Welcome to the Café btw :)

Hi One,

I'm a bit of a newcomer to posting music here too. And like you I am also a graphic designer by day with a site at audioshot!

This has a nice mood and I like the electric grand sound with the mellotronish flute sound, but the rhythm needs some attention, as there are some things that don't hit the beat quite right. And if I'm gonna be picky I think the flutey and trumpety melody lines need a bit of work to sound like they belong together, maybe they sound a little random.

But it does have a good feel, keep working at it! As for style, I think it's verging on ambient.

Thanks Guys!

I'm glad someone is checking my stuff out.

I guess this tunes all about a sort of loose epic-y kind of feel. Guilty as charged on the beats thier sloppy. I did them by hand and kind of got attached to the dragg-y delay on the timing. Same goes for the whole tune I guess as far as tightness.

As for set up this was fruity and some mellotron sound fonts plus tapeworm and layered pianos.

Diary Giant, Nice site I shoulda kept it simple like you did. Its clean and effcient. You clearly know how to play music also! I like your stuff.

Mstar, thank you for the welcome! Iappreciate it! I too vote for more love!

Normal, Thanks for the tip!
