My issue with the running theme of that thread was that "Produzahs" sounded derogatory to the younger generation of people trying out music.
I think the real issue is, maybe some folks on here are too much focused on the idea that everyone who buys any sort of music creation tools must mean they are automatically competing to become pro. Not necessarily the case. Also, a lot of folks on here in the VST and software sales industry -- their customers and bread and butter are these new "producers".
If you go out and buy a laptop and DAW and VST, it does not automatically make you an artist or producer. It just makes you a guy that went out and spent some disposable income on a laptop, DAW and VST. You are still a million miles away from becoming an artist or producer or "pro". I used to have an uncle who taught me how to tune my guitar and play. He liked to play Stompin Tom songs. He was just another guy that had an acoustic guitar and liked to play stompin tom songs on his sofa after work. He was a million miles away from playing in front of an audience at the Grand Ole Oprey.
Just saying..
