Cubase 9.5: Is there such a thing as a plugin cache that I can clear out?

I have a project that crashes when scanning 3 particular plugins, namely:
- Battery 4;
- Komplete Kontrol;
- Valhalla Shimmer

The project was fine a few days ago and no system changes have been made. I moved all my plugins to a new folder and moved them back one at a time to find the culprits and it is these 3. Confusingly they're from two different developers so I know the issue isn't with them (besides they are the same versions that were working until recently).

New projects are able to use these plugins without issue so it's only the one existing project. Is there a way to reset what plugins the project thinks it is using? The project isn't even using these anyway but somewhere I guess it thinks it is :shrug:

What if you temporarily move the plugins where Cubase can't find them and then load the project?

It will load fine. As soon as I copy them back it crashes.

I have a folder full of dump reports now. I'll send one to Steinberg tomorrow but I'd rather not waste a productive sunday :(

It creates cache files but I don't think it creates anything regarding plugins as its own cache. Not certain but can't advise.
It's probably a corrupt project which is kind of indeterminate.

There is, here anyway, such as Vst2xPlugin SearchPaths Cubase.xml which will get rebuilt upon start after deleting.
(Preferences directory)

Thanks Jan. I have opened it in safe mode to ignore preferences and that made no difference either.

I'm starting to think the aforementioned plugins aren't the main issue because it's happening now even without them in the VST folder.

It all started after a crash automating the LFO in Repro. None of the errors since have pointed to that track and it has since been deleted to be safe. Still crashes :(

I will delete the file you mentioned though and keep my fingers crossed :tu:
