DiHalt Demoscene competitions
Indaba - Has a mix of popular and indie artists with various contests like remixing and song writing. Some people from OSC have had success here.
Mix Challenge - Who can mix a song the best (Without adding extra recordings /musical additions)? Each person starts out with the same stems.
Mix Challenge: Song Writing Competition - A thematic monthly competition. Use recording, real instruments, synths and samples.
Skio Music Contests - Lots of remixes you can join (Mostly EDM) - big prizes.
Soundevotion (SDCOMPO) Competition - Even longer running than the OSC, the SDCOMPO is even more niche in that you must use a tracker, and set of specific effects. Great community.

Its crazy how in just a few minutes of play with qyooo I already have a theme to work with. I just connect with his synths.

An excellent opportunity to try Bjorn's wonderful new sequencer as well: SequencAir

The track makes itself!

However there isn't a built in drum kit, so here's the first one I've made, if you like. It's funky, as always

I'd boost the bass on the kick, saturate the kit, add a hint of spatial fx, etc.

Hm I wish the built in synthesizer stayed off when I switched patches on the Sequencair.

Björn flipping rocks! This is another example on how one can be utterly inventive and still provide an intuitive gui with a super light-weight processing on the sounds and a respectable- and enjoyable- sound quality. Awesomeness! Wanted to play with this one at some point anyway!

This seems like a fun little synth. I took it for a spin today as I had the day off. Some of the stuff came off weird when exported, but there is still some time to mess with that.

Here's some rave-ish stuff I came up with

A+ for trying something different. Though the scene matrix I find pretty clunky for basic modulations. Not trying to be a party pooper as I have major respect for anyone who makes a synth- let alone a free one.

Yeah this synth is inspiring. It's got a nice warm grrrr tone to it.

It seems when I alter a present, I can't revert to factory even after clicking Reset to Factory Default in Reaper.

I know what you mean. I do have some hard times myself switching my "mind set" when programming the qyooo. Interesting that the paradigm "Here is your static sound when you start morphing, and here is the sound you end with" can get so confusing.

Here's my first draft. I really like that scene approach for modulations. It enables quite complex movements without any automation. Not quite present in my track but anyway

I'm sort of satisfied with my composition so far and even with the amount of instances used. Percussions are really weak though

Anyway, it was important to get melody ideas out first.
