Hello All,

I have looked everywhere for the answer to this question and either a) I am totally blind and have not found it, or b) no one has really asked this question. I am hoping to do it right and remove the guesswork.

The Setting:
1) I have a separate production room and live room with one wall in between.
2) The talent obviously needs to be able to jack into a stagebox in the live room.

My original thought was to use a Studiolive Series III mixer, and as my walls all have CAT5e runs, simply use an NSB 16 stagebox (or two) would be an easy solution from Console to Live room. But to be honest, I'm a little paranoid of latency when multi-tracking and want to use a very streamlined approach, while still keeping two distinct rooms.

So, my plan now is to likely go with dual daisychained Quantums with a Faderport 16. This way I will avoid any latency issues while being able to use my DAW (Studio One 4 Pro) and VST's directly for tracking and mixing.

Questions:
1) What would be the best approach for a stagebox where I can have all my 16 inputs (XLR/TRS combos) and outputs (1/4" TRS) in the live room?

I would appreciate your thoughts / any advice would be very welcome.

Cheers!

My advice would be to take your question to GearSlutz instead. There are a lot of professional engineers and recording studio owners there, and you're much more likely to get an answer to a highly-technical question like yours.

Thanks for your honest response, RitchieWitch I do appreciate it. I also posted this question there and will hope to get some input there as well.

Cheers
