Pigments has been updated to 1.2 and is on sale right now.
https://www.arturia.com/support/pigments-update-12
-NKS compatible: Do you use Maschine or Komplete Kontrol? Pigments is now ready to rock with Native Instruments NKS control format.
-Introducing Sound Store: Find exciting new preset sound banks from within Pigments. New themed banks are being added all the time! (note from OP: there's a free sound bank in there)
-Super Mode: A new unison detune voice mode lets you beef any wave up with the style of the famous “JP” supersaw. (note from OP: only available in wavetable engine)
-Sequencer Revamp: A new visual layout, with the added ability to set different clock divisions for each lane in the sequencer or arpeggiator.(note from OP: you still can't use the sequencer as a modulator)
-Updated Envelopes: We’ve reduced the minimum value for the attack times, letting you achieve even sharper envelope modulation for super-nasty sounds.
-Microtuning: Want to be a bit more free with your tuning? Now you can select alternative keyboard scales, as well as import your own .scl and .tun files.
-Extra Combinator: We’ve added a third combinator, giving you more sound-shaping potential. We’ve also introduced a new “Map” type that lets you remap any incoming modulation source.
-50 New Presets: We’ve added dozens more factory preset sounds that make use of the new capabilities of the Pigments audio engine updates in version 1.2.
-The Little Things: On top of all the big new features, we’ve made lots of small enhancements too. New Aftertouch curves, Mod source hovering displays, integrated Filter tutorials, and bug fixes to give you the best experience ever.
Pigments is one of my all time favorite synths but this is a fairly modest update. Still missing the most asked for features (modulating macros, unison in analog engine, sequencer as modulator) - but I guess I have Avenger for that. I am happy they are still updating it.

Good stuff. Excited about the new features as I never take free updates for granted.

Don’t underestimate this update!
Little things, like the four-point curves possible now for aftertouch, matter a lot to me, using the Microfreak’s polyphonic aftertouch with it (really a phenomenal combination; I highly recommend it).
The superwave function is cool. Adds another dimension to any wavetable.
The sequencer is substantially transformed.
Microtuning is extremely useful to those of us not locked into equal temperament as our only tuning need.
And an already brilliant and intuitive mod matrix is even greater now, too.
I hadn’t expected any of this.
They’re very different animals, of course, but Arturia saved me $4k US with Pigments, which I consider more interesting and usable - especially in a software environment - than Waldorf’s Quantum, intriguing as that is.

Great update, but still no "real" polyphony option. The notes are still being killed by by themselves. Which is a shame. Other then that; great update!

Hm, I hope they will add microtuning to all their other stuff at some point.

What do you mean with "real" polyphony? You can select between Mono, Legato, and 2 - 32 voices under Play Settings.exmatproton wrote: Fri Jun 14, 2019 8:56 am Great update, but still no "real" polyphony option. Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

When you choose 2 (or more) polyphony, and you play 1 note (long release for instance), this note will be killed when you play the same note a second time. With "real", i mean something similar to Round-Robin. For instance; 12 voices uses 12 voices, no matter what notes are being played.AdvancedFollower wrote: Fri Jun 14, 2019 9:30 amWhat do you mean with "real" polyphony? I see, that makes sense. Have you tried contacting Arturia about it?exmatproton wrote: Fri Jun 14, 2019 9:35 amWhen you choose 2 (or more) polyphony, and you play 1 note (long release for instance), this note will be killed when you play the same note a second time. I just checked, and their Prophet 5 actually has those options.

"Circ" is round-robin, Reset works like Pigments does currently. Weird that Pigments doesn't also have those options.

It's the micro tuning! It's a must have these days, hope not only for me. I finally bought it, and now it's a complete, great synth.
For us, who have broken out of the "12 note equal temper jail", a universe of scales waits to be discovered or rediscovered.
I wish Arturia will soon make all of its synths micro tuneable; especially the DX7 V would greatly profit, and I could put FM8 to grave.
