What we're about
This group is designed for people of all skill levels who like to record music, both original and covers.
• Are you a beginner? We want you! We have people who are eager to help you navigate the basics of recording; from choosing the software and hardware you might need, to navigating the signal chain, and more.
• Are you an intermediate? We want you too! We have lots of people who look forward to sharing ideas, sharing the recorded results of their efforts, talking DAWs, plugins, MIDI controllers, and all the rest.
• Are you an expert? We want you too! Come and share your ideas and music, we can learn from each other! We come from all musical genres; our co-organizers have backgrounds in EDM, Ambient, Jazz, Pop, and Rock, and our members’ music spans genres that you might not have even imagined!
This group is about as relaxed and friendly a group of folks as you could hope to meet. No judging of any kind. It’s about sharing your thoughts, your questions, and your art in a supportive and inquisitive environment. We love hearing your work, and we look forward to your friendship as well!
Got music you’ve recorded but you don’t know how to mix or master it? We do, and we want to help! Stuck on how to get something to sound just how you imagined? We can help! Need to learn more about recording software? We’re ready! Are you a gear nerd and want to talk shop? Bring it on!
We rotate between three Starbucks locations in the mid-Pinellas area (East Bay & Starkey Road, Sunset Point & 19, and Ulmerton Road in Feather Sound) to make it easy for people to attend. We meet every two weeks, often enough to get lots of time together but not so often that it’s a burden. Come on out and play! Bring your laptop, your headphones, and an open mind (and a couple of bucks to get some coffee)!
