Hey guys, I don't actually have the problem any more but I wanted to document for anyone else with problems regarding Synthmaster not showing up in Reason while it may show up in other DAWs. Not sure if theres already something about this on the web but it wasn't easy for me to find.

In my case, Synthmaster 2.9 was working in FL, ProTools, Studio One, etc however it was simply missing in Reason.

I own a trashcan Mac Pro running Mojave 10.14.5 with Reason 10 and I tried everything I found online including making sure the VST was installed in the proper default directory, making sure Reason was pointed to /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST and /Users/username/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST. I even tried moving the VST to its own folder and pointing Reason to that. I removed all pointed directories in Reason, closed Reason, opened Reason and readded them, then reloaded Reason to let to rescan all the plug-ins several times. Reinstalled Reason, reinstalled Synthmaster several times. All my efforts failed.

Finally what I ended up doing was opening Reason using a sudo command in the Terminal (theres plenty of documentation online that explains how to open a program with sudo on Google) and from there it got a little odd. First I noticed that it wouldn't let me log in with my username/password until I capitalized the first letter of my username, then Reason wanted to update the rack extensions licenses however it would not proceed so I had to close the rack extension window to let Reason load. From there I finally got the Synthmaster registration window to come up and I successfully registered. After that another one of my Slate plugins threw an error and Reason wouldn't allow me to click "OK". I couldn't close Reason, force quit, terminate process in terminal, shutdown the mac or restart so I just held the power button and forced the shutdown.

When I booted the Mac back up, Reason finally showed KV331 Synthmaster and all was well in the world. This entire process took me about 4-5 months just trying different things over a period of time.

Whats strange is in my music studio I have an identical Mac with the exact same software and it gave me no issues. My gut feeling is there was some type of security issue not letting the Sythmaster registration window to come up for whatever reason.

Hope that this write up will save someone out there some time. Peace

- Erin
