Hi,

I downloaded SampleTank 2 Free and have been playing around with it. I am waiting for my Group Buy Bundle from SR (still waiting, hasn't even shipped yet even though I ordered two weeks ago already :( )

Anyway I found (I believe) a bug in ST2 Free that I was wondering if it would also be in ST2 LE.

Basically, when I play into ST2 Free from my MIDI keyboard (using Sonar 3 PE as host), and use the pitch bend, ST2 Free "loops" the pitch bend to the top of the range if I move the pitch bend all the way to the left. At first I thought it was my keyboard that was out of alignment but then I tried it with other soft synths (like Kontakt), and they all worked fine.

I then looked at the event list to see the actual values of the pitch wheel. The lowest level is -8192, and the highest value is 8191. From searching the web for the MIDI specification, this is the correct range.

It seems though as if ST2 Free interprets -8192 as being wrapped around (to a positive value) and plays it as to upper value of the pitch wheel, instead of the lower value.

Is anyone aware of this, is this a known issue, or am I doing something wrong? And if this is a problem in ST2 Free, does it also exist in ST2 LE etc?

Any info appreciated...

BitFlipper, you're right. This happens only with the DXi version, near as I can tell, so if you switch to VSTi it ought to work for you.

I've reported it to IK and they replied saying they were able to reproduce the problem and would work on it. Responsive folks. :-)

P.S.: I own just the free version so far. In a few days I'll know about the LE and XL versions. (patience, patience... *shreds a few books* patience)

By the way, the orders are shipping in the order they were ordered. (*dizzy*) Uh. You see what I mean. :-D Hope yours goes out soon!

Another by-the-way: based on programs I own, the problem doesn't appear to be host-related.

Along with Sonar 3, I tested the DXi in Brainspawn's Forte Ensemble, and the VSTi in Forte and Ableton Live 4. In all three hosts the VSTi worked fine, and in both DX-capable hosts the DXi version exhibited the bug you described.
