Any news on the M1 native version?

I wasn't sure if it was always like this, but some of the Unified presets work right off the bat, but I thought I'd have to scan for the plugins that are installed (or something similar) for Unify to know I had E.g. Sylenth installed. I just clicked on ARP 1985 Dav&Len2 and it worked right away.

Did I not get the memo about that, or am I just forgetting something?
I'm just a little confused why it worked with no fuss at all, but it's great at the same time. :)
I must have downloaded the Unified Sylenth1 library at some point, but thought it wouldn't work if I had totally unistalled/reinstalled, etc. I am guessing that library file was in a different spot than the install of Unify itself so it wasn't removed.
In order for "Unified" presets to work, Unify needs to have the underlying plugins installed and have the file path to the plugins stored in Unify as "known plugins".

Unify stores the location of known plugins in "PluginList.xml". So evidently that info was still accessible to Unify.

Since it seems Roland Cloud plugins can't use Program change messages, is there a way to select presets in a bank from a MIDI controller somehow with Unify? Also, I wasn't sure if the presets needed to be "Unified" first or not.

I don't think there is any way to select plugin presets in Unify other than with program change messages (only for plugins that support fxb/fxp preset files). Unified presets in Unify are manually selected from the Unify library browser, but only if they have been "Unified", which saved the native plugin state (and preset used by it) at the time it was "Unified".

There are up to 32 Macro knobs in the Unify GUI (4 banks x "8") that can be linked to any synth parameter exposed by the native plugin, as well as linking to things such as the Unify instrument mix level, solo, mute, etc. These knobs can then be MIDI learned to your controller, or by any MIDI CC.

Just as a suggestion, I think an alternative approach might be to load up the native plugin presets desired as your Unify layers in a given Unified preset, then link a Macro to the instrument layer "solo" for each one, to switch them on/off as desired.

John does a deep dive tutorial into Unify's GuruSampler. I wasn't aware of how flexible this is.

Is there anyway we can load an instrument, then layer with other instruments in the browser using a drag and drop function instead of the current layer option? If I choose a 2nd instrument it simply layers, but then if I don't like that, and try to choose a different instrument, it then gives me another layer.

Is there not a way to just drag n drop to replace the current layer?

thanks , it's been awhile since I've used unify, sorry if this has been answered before.

No drag and drop functionality. To change instruments, you have to right click and select "SWAP".

Yeah, thanks. It'd be great if there was an option to have a VST browser to drag n drop sounds in. Maybe on the left side of the screen, keep presets on the right side, or something. Thanks for the reply.

Any news on Unify V2 yet?

No news yet...the best place to ask would be the Unify Forum:

I wish they'd spend some time making the plugin scanner faster and more robust, because it falls over on a couple of plugins for me, it takes 7 passes through for me, each taking about 20 minutes. I'm not expecting it to scan as reliably or quickly as reaper does, but JFC if 2-3 hours to do a full scan isn't insane.
