Julien Tauban, of Loops de la crème, has led a course in Kontakt sampling at the Les Studios Palace in Moulins, France. The result of the students' hard work is three delightful Kontakt instruments and a collection of 70 (!) drum and percussion samples.

The instruments need the full Kontakt 5.8 or later and are all free to download from https://lesstudiospalace.com/formation/ ... 5f15ad1e4b

The Quena is a really well sampled and playable South American flute – very useful in all sorts of contexts. Velocity is mapped to sustain, sustain with a chiffy attach and ditto overblown.

The Roots Balafon recreates the characteristic timbres of this West African gourd-resonated xylophone. Less universally useful than the quena, perhaps, but great for African spiced jazz, for instance.

The Only Spring Drum is almost as out there as its name. Still a lot of fun for adding a quirky twist to percussion and, not least, using the tuned down version for lending a sinister edge to ambient atmospheres.

Tse Tse Sampling Pack, finally, is an eclectic collection of drum and percussion samples in WAV format – perfect fodder for the free Sitala drum sampler.
If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Enjoy, guys! I'm sure that I do. ;-)

Just to be clear – I've no affiliation with Loops de la créme or Les Studios Palace. I just like their serious and playful approach to sampling instruments.
