I thought I'd pen a ty note to Magix,
as I'm enjoying using the latest SoundForge and Acid.
They have obviously totally worked out what Sonic Foundry did to program these, which I find impressive. It's nice to have these tools in good order, they are among the first I used back in 01.
Anyone else liking these in 20?
Are there any bugs that I should look out for?
The .sfk files on by default cluttered up my archives as usual, but I think they are successfully deleting themselves now.
Thanks Magix for updating Sonic Foundry

It's nice to see them still alive but there's no real incentive to using Acid in particular as all Magix have done is make them 64bit and to add some of their plugins. In my opinion, they have made the GUI worse, it's a mess compared to the elegant version from Sony days. Also, these apps got more bloated and buggy after Sony bought SonicFoundry out. They did their best to neglect Acid in particular and over time I think it went to the great software junkyard. It's also fair to say they have been superseded and made redundant as most of the functionality is in most DAWs and in some cases much improved. Ableton really killed Acid. And the midi in Acid is clunky and a bit of a pain to use. Don't get me wrong, I loved Acid when it came out it was all I used for a few years. Now though, it's just nostalgia. I can't see any innovations coming any day soon...

one man's trash
- horses for courses hehe
I like the UIs, they are congruent and cool imo
Sony's MIDI stuff is cool to have, but I haven't tried it yet
I think they are both relevant still, I mean SF is one of the big 3,
being Audition and WaveLab also
It's wicked to have it maintained and that I can still call on the familiar tool

I agree...inkwarp wrote: Thu Jan 16, 2020 11:50 pm In my opinion, they have made the GUI worse, it's a mess compared to the elegant version from Sony days.
It's good that they are x64,but the GUI's are so ugly...
I still use Sony's last versions of ACID 7 and Sound Forge because I just can't look at the Magix GUI's...
ACID 7 Pro and Sound Forge 10 are the only x86 programs that I have installed on my DAWs...
There are not enough words in the English language to describe how hideous those Magix GUIs are...
Every time I see them, they give me vertigo
No auto tune...
