Well, I am sure I read something about this problem and the solution for it ( that did not work so fare)
But I ask it again.
When I close my daily cubase work (version 9,5) it always forgets to close the window that opens, b4 you choos what kind of project you want to make, after you open it.
So I have to click it twice or more to close completly.
I there a handling for this?
Cheers

You may be closing the project, not Cubase.

I always wondered about that as well. Seems like Cubase only has a single set of buttons up there, and you have to click the X two times, one time to close the project, and another time to close Cubase.

Ah yes...they are correct. I was unsure what you were talking about.

Welcome to Steinberg's half-arsed one window implementation. In fact, it's still the multiple window principle from prior v8, but disguised as one window. It's embarrassingly lazy programming from Steinberg. It brings also the problem, that you can't switch easily between programs. Whenever you switch from another program back to Cubase you almost always get just the grey background with the menu bar. You have to click the Cubase icon in the taskbar a second time so that the project window appears, too. I'm a Cubase user since Cubase VST 3.x and this is probably the worst implementation of a "new feature" that they have ever done.

... There's also CTRL+Q (Windows - and I'm sure there's an Apple equivalent).

I think this is Steinberg's response to demands for a single document interface, replacing the previous multiple document one. Cubase on Windows is no longer a "Windows" program. But then there's a lot of that these days - Da Vinci Resolve, Corel programs, etc, etc. All use their own bastardised implementations.Rat 41 wrote: Fri Jan 31, 2020 8:40 pm Welcome to Steinberg's half-arsed one window implementation. Exactly, well put! It's very annoying and clumsy when working with multiple programs.

No, there is the option to close project and not quit out of Cubase is all. Really basic work with a computer: Q for quit. Windows used Control W (for window, shockingly enough) vs Control Q, doubt it’s diff today. OSX uses Command W or Q.

If the project has the focus, it closes. If the non-Windows-standard menu/Title bar does, Cubase closes.
