At 12 bucks it’s worth taking a risk. Would be good to know if someone has used them though.

Yes, I have one of those and a larger Accutronics tank, which I use with my Koma Field Kit FX. It has a pretty short decay, it gets pretty fluttery with sharp transients and it's more resonant in mid-frequencies than my larger tanks. Do you plan to use it in a guitar amp?

I was kind of thinking out loud when I wrote that, and was wondering if I could connect it to one of the FX send/return loops on my mixer.

You could try but it wouldn't work very well. You need something to drive the output transducer and and a pre to amplify the signal from the pickup. You might get sound sound through it with just and effect send/return but most likely very noisy and low level.

The ACM2BF2 is a little longer than a 1590b enclosure, so it would be a pretty big pedal. You could have the tank on the outside (its fun to play with the springs for sound design). For a guitar amp, I would recommend the a larger three spring tank, like the 9EB2C1B. It still has a medium decay but it's denser and less "boingy". That's what I have in my Mesa/Boogie Rectoverb.

That tube/spring kit looks really cool. I haven't built anything with tubes before.
