Anyone uses the X with a DAW that doesn't have a dedicated script for it? In particular, does playing MIDI notes with the pads incl. velocity, aftertouch & scales work still? How about the custom pages (via Components), e.g. bank of CC faders? Can they be mapped to control DAW parameters as if it was a physical knob or fader or any other 'regular' controller?
My main DAW - Bitwig - has a comprehensive script for X (matching the Live features), but I'd like to know if the most basic features work in other DAWs?
Launchpad X with S1, Reason or Cubase?

Have you tried the custom modes, specifically CC faders? Can they be mapped to parameters in other (non-Live) DAWs?

I have tried the custom modes and used the components software as well as the web components site and have made my own 6 sting guitar grid scale . (Tab) also made my own 16 pad drums . It's great , I have not messed with cc faders but I imagine it would work for you DAW with the custom modes ... .I'd shoot Novation an email . I'm really happy with my Launchpad X .

That's great ! When you get it also sign up for all the Novation account goodies , this month they are doing SeratoSampleLE for free they do free plugins and samples stuff every so many months . There are some good YouTube videos on the LaunchpadX as well as the PDF file at Novation . Like I said before I'm liking my controller alot and I hardly use as an actual Launchpad for Live or Bitwig ..... Yet .... . I mainly use the 4 custom banks with Components . And also use the scale modes that are not under components . They also launched a new Launchpad Pro the other day that is a step up from the old Pro and X . I'm happy with the X I don't think the Pro has anything I care to use extra .

Thanks! Yeah, I'm aware of the Pro but don't need the extra features it offers as well.
