YouTube Demo:
"Totally Rad Retrowave" contains 65 presets for Serum, with custom wavetables and "noise" samples also included. Take a trip back to the late 80's with this exhilarating collection of oldschool digital sounds and analog textures, which is tailor made for Synthwave, Outrun and other retro-influenced tracks. Inspiration was taken from a wide range of vintage hardware, including early wavetable and digital waveform synths, FM synths, old "ROM-plers", as well as the classic analog synths that defined the era.
Every patch in this library has modwheel, velocity and Macro Controls assigned for maximum playability and expression.

Ok.... so at this point, I'm asking for constructive feedback in order to avoid mistakes in the future. As any sound designer will tell you, you know within the first few days if a product is going to do well, and this one still hasn't moved a single copy. Serum is a popular synth, and the bank is for a genre I've always had good results with. For example, the NI Massive 70s/80s banks do great, and the Serum banks I make for other companies do REALLY well. So, where did I go wrong on this particular one?

Ok I listened to the demos and they are really great and authentic to the genre. I personally like what I hear and I know first hand from the many preset packs I bought from you that your quality is exceptional!! That being said here is my constructive input. Maybe you can offer the drums included in the demos ( copyright premitting and permission from your demo writer) as a lauch "bonus" to stimulate sales. The other thing that really helps is if you do a visual walk through demo of the presets or maybe at least a representation of an individual short single preset demos in sequence of your preset list so people can hear the individual demos. The last point has many times been the deciding factor between buying/not buying at the end of the day. Then just the timing of your release, End of Jan is usually a bad time for release as people are just recovering from the sting of the christmas shopping debt and tend to not "spend" at thus time. Then market saturation... many synthwave packs exist for serum and spire and naturally tal uno lx... Also maybe synthwave as a genre is in its last twilight phase so people are looking for the next big shiny genre to move to? One last thought, have you marketed this pack in the specialised synthwave preset sites like patchbay? Many people seem to go to patchbay as there one stop synthwave market shop!!Xenos wrote: Sat Feb 08, 2020 3:02 pm Ok.... so at this point, I'm asking for constructive feedback in order to avoid mistakes in the future. One last point that could help? You do have a youtube channel Bryan, maximise it and offer some tutorial videos to enhance traction to new users... even some old users have forgotten who you are as you have been very quiet for longer that 6 months here at kvr. I personally have seen your journey on Facebook as I am one of your friends on Facebook and am happy at the progress that has been happening for you with your sound designing.
Regards

Thanks a lot for the input, Surreal
. I had just sent you a PM, then found your second (much larger) comment.
Yeah, I've been pretty quiet on the forums for a while due to having a pretty crazy schedule with the other label. But now the work schedule has lightened considerably, so I finally have time to get back into the Xenos stuff. You've given me plenty to think about in other areas as well.
