Magic plugins

Magic plugins as in plugins that feature few knobs and transform the incoming signal in some unique and almost magic way.
My favourite magic plugins are:
- Intensity by zynaptiq, no idea how it almost always turns anything into something "better".
- Trackspacer by waves factory, I think one could achieve the same effect using multiband compression but for a noob like me, trackspacer is magic.
- Dopamine by overloud, it really does wonders on the higher part of the frequency spectrum.
So, what are your favourite magic plugins?

DiscoDSP Thrillme
it has no names on the controls,
but if you remember the abbreviation TRS,
you can recall it.
they are Threshold, Ratio and Spectral balance
To raise RMS in a characterful way it rocks,
I use for mastering mixed tracks

iZotope Neutron Sculptor. It seems to be multiband compressor following default EQ curve (as I requested in iZotope user poll), but with a minimal set of controls. For some use cases, especially synth leads, it simply gives right sound instantly.
It's not a plugin, but Orb Composer certainly does magic. Creates full compositions out of thin air, or creates chords and accompaniment based on single MIDI melody.

iZotope really has a way of blurring the magic/tech lines.
i hope they dive into machine learning soon

I use Waves Vitamin and also their Aphex Vintage Aural Exciter quite a bit. You do have to resist the temptation to put them on everything, though. Most things will sound better in isolation, but it might not work in a mix.imrae wrote: Tue Feb 11, 2020 8:23 am Vitamin by Waves has proven to be quite resiliant against simple analysis techniques. I still can't work out what the exciter part is doing, but it's something interesting.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

I find with the Aphex Exciter it's best to turn it up to the point you can hear it working some magic, and then turn it down a few notches to where you can't quite hear it any more. If you go away and come back a few minutes later and do an A/B, it'll still sound great without being shrill and overblown.AdvancedFollower wrote: Tue Feb 11, 2020 2:40 pmI use Waves Vitamin and also their Aphex Vintage Aural Exciter quite a bit.
