just right now it took about 8 minutes for the project to save, and i didnt even do any major changes since it was llast opened(last night).
has anyone else been experiencing long ass save times, or long as copy/paste times?
this is a new one for me.

yeah, i can usually cntol s during playback as well with not even a glitch. the edit is not even that complicated.
1 audio track
7 midi tracks(two of them rewired trough reason)the rest plugins
no fx or racks yet as im still in the writing stage and i got lots more elemnts to add.
frustrating it is.

No long saves here, either.
Sorry to hear about that; wish I could help.

I've seen some long saves in the past when I was using the DS404 from CM Magazine as it tries to save its sample data with the song data. Are you using the DS404 at all?
Other than that, I'm clueless.

the only plugs im using is v-station, dr-008 and z3ta+.
i think it may be because after sequencing out the entire drum track,i merged all diffrent midi clips into one. this alone took about ten minutes to do. the flaky saving behavoir happened after that i think.

Yes I have had long save times, when I try to save as, rather than Ctrl +s. Not 8 minutes, but certainly not instantious which is what I used to get in the bad old days when I used Cubasis (crumbs, how my life has changed for the better since switching to T!)It's weird, but I guess up to a minute is put upable with, 8 minutes is an issue tho. Sorry I can't suggest a solution...Neil G wrote:just right now it took about 8 minutes for the project to save, and i didnt even do any major changes since it was llast opened(last night).

Some of my projects save in a second or two, others take 5-10 seconds or longer.
I'm pretty sure it is a plug in related thing, or the complexity of the edit.
I think non-destructive editing must use a fair amount of processing.

well i deleted the huge midi file and this solved everything again. so i guess its not that great of an idea to merge a bunch of midi together.
time to program some new drums.

If its a very long midi clip, you might want check that there are no unintentional controlers moving about in it. Notes rarely amount to much, but if you have a controler message every tick you can end up with a shitload of data.
I experienced this once when a slider on my keyboard broke.

10 minutes to merge midi clips?
I've merged drumtracks on a 6-7 minute song and its never taken longer than perhaps 5 seconds.
What speed computer?

I have had problems with this. Traction is very slow saving midi data, so if you have large amounts it takes very long. In my case it is the controller data from my Steiner EVI wind controller (cc2).
According to Jules, the problem is that Traction converts all midi data to XML, which is very slow.
This is something that absolutely needs to be improved i 2.0.
