I picked up a copy of Norton System Works Pro 2001, knowing that it's outdated but not realizing that it's for Win2K and that WinXP isn't supported.

Now, I dislike almost all the programs, and was interested only in Ghost. The website and manual claim that WinXP isn't supported... fine....

But if it runs from a DOS boot disk, does it REALLY matter what my operating system is? Ie. if I don't worry about the Ghost explorer and all that stuff, and just use it for making and restoring images, is there any reason it shouldn't work? I can't think of any reason why not.

Anyhow, before I break the seal on the CD and make it unreturnable, any opinions or experiences? It's only $10 (CDN even), mind, so I could always give it to my dad for his Win98 machine if it doesn't work. He's a sucker for Disk Doctor and all that kind of stuff.

Hi there :D
I use ghost 7.0 with xp and had no problems with it.
The only thing i do when i create a backup is ghosting the win xp partition.
So i´m not shure how it works with program ghosting.

Nah, good enough. All I want to do is ghost the boot partition. Cheers!
