Preferably free.
I need something that can import midi files, I don't care if I have to suffer through GM Microsoft sound synth audio quality.
It has to display large font size notation (not like some "orchestration software" where the score is unreadable because it can't handle the screen res.
Something that I can read the notation and does a good job of transcribing music to the proper staff (*8va etc) and displays in large view (easy reading) with the ability to select sections and loop /adjust tempo.
[resolved]ISO win10 notation reader (midi player)

MuseScore goes up to 1600% which should be big enough - https://musescore.org/en
Oven though it's full notation software you can use it as just a MIDI player if you wish (and it's free!)

Resolved.
Previously I was using RealBand 2016 which is packaged with Band in a box. During the last Windows update something went wonky. For some reason the audio / midi was sporked. Even though BIAB works fine.
I went to http://pgmusic.com logged into my account and updated the software drivers. Then after about a half an hour or so I finally got the midi and audio drivers working again.
